Lux et Veritas

Fort Lauderdale, FL

April 2, 2022- January 8, 2023

Lux et Veritas examines a transformative era in contemporary art by highlighting artists of color who attended Yale School of Art between 2000 and 2010. The exhibition’s title, drawn from Yale’s motto meaning “Light and Truth,” reflects these artists’ critical engagement with institutional structures. In response to the school’s historical lack of diversity, they built interdisciplinary networks, invited artists and curators of color, and created forums for dialogue through exhibitions, journals, and documentation. Their efforts reshaped the art curriculum, challenged stereotypes, and fostered lasting communities that continue to influence artistic practice and education.
