Comunidades Visibles (Visible Communities): The Materiality of Migration features first- and second-generation Latinx immigrant artists who celebrate their communities while interrogating the materials and stories that shape them. Blending techniques from their countries of origin, colonized places, and present contexts, their hybrid practices reflect their identities. These works invite reflection on personal histories, belonging, and the contributions of marginalized groups. By transforming difficult narratives into compelling objects, the artists create celebratory and urgent expressions of historical and contemporary immigration.
This exhibition is organized by Curatorial Assistant Andrea Alvarez.
